A small selection of pieces from the Slow Art exhibition. Twenty-nine artists in total are participating and every piece is of course excuisite. But I've made a choice here of only 8 - a few of my absolute favourites. Just realised, while uploading; my choice is within a very narrow range of colors..!

Looking forward to tomorrow: I'm going to a special sneak preview at The National museum to see the new exhibition Slow Art - where one of my paper bowls will participate! Going with my husband Mattias and a couple of good friends/colleagues from Kaleido. But first we're visiting Galleri Inger Molin and then Sven-Harrys konstmuseum which I'm really looking forward to as well, never been to the latter. Might as well cram as much in as possible when we're at it! Hopefully I can take some good photos of it all.

Twice a year the nineteen members of Kaleido move around and rearrange our places in the shop, which makes it feel new and updated. My shelf is now next to the counter. This is where I sell my handmade paper products; notebooks, art cards, posters etc... and now I've also brought in a few of my paper art objects. I'm so pleased to have found the ultimate storage for these objects: glass bell jars! Found the two larger ones here, the smaller one is second hand. Haven't had paper art for sale in the shop before - dust from the central station and the surrounding area, which is under reconstruction, made it impossible.

I held a bookbinding workshop in Sigtunastiftelsens library - a paradise for book lovers! It even smells heavenly from all those old worn pages... Eleven enthusiastic participants attended. We had such a nice evening and would have actually needed more than 4 hours – there was so much to talk about!

For those interested in a mini vacation, combining a workshop with a nice stay in Sweden's oldest town: I'm giving a 3-day bookbinding course at Sigtuna Folkhögskola this summer!

Sigtunastiftelsen

 

Pictures from my exhibition at Sigtunastiftelsen. It's a special place; a hotel but also much much more. It "stands out as a cross between an ancient castle and a Tuscan monastery". The building is quite remarkable and so I was not allowed to attach anything to the  walls - which drove me to seek alternative solutions... cardboard. Made large panels(?) and attached my pieces to them instead. Necessity is the mother of invention :)

Broke & Brave day 3.
Enhancing husband Mattias with a faux mustache, inspired by a movie (see post title) I saw today with my mother and my youngest daughter, Rosa :) Pleasing how the little plastic hangers from the sport socks I bought came in handy :))

Second contribution to the Broke & Brave project: envelopes found in the mailbox and plastic bands found in the wastepaper basket, bound together with string. Tomorrow I'm going to Stockholm - what will I find there?

A week ago in Göteborg.
Workshop at Rum för Papper, making book boxes with ten enthusiastic participants with various backgrounds; photographers, graphic designers, record label owner, textile artist, author, stylist and otherwise generally interested paper nerds :)
Shop dog Kellogs couldn't care less and didn't understand all the fuss about paper, cardboard and glue.


Yesterday I visited Magasin 3, to see an exhibition with chinese artist Ai Wei Wei. It was extremely interesting, gripping and touching. One of those artists that leave a huge mark in history. 
One thing annoyed me though; the museum was swarming with show guards looking over ones shoulder to make sure nothing was touched or that you weren't standing too close. A paradox, since his art also criticizes surveillance...
