I'm on TV – Sverige!

I was featured on national TV! For Sverige!, a show which reflects the cultural life in Sweden (one of our favorite programs, always an interesting mix).

I was filmed and interviewed for 2 days in my studio and at my solo exhibition at Kaleido Konsthantverk in Uppsala. The result was boiled down to 3 minutes (!) and can be seen here for thirty days. I'll see if I can upload a small video of the 3-minute sequence later.

It could of course have been longer, but I think they caught the essence of my thoughts on work.

my first ever review! and a new japanese paper book

My first ever review, in UNT, Upsala Nya Tidning! You can read it here if you find the text too small in the image.
My exhibition, flux - in constant change at Kaleido Konsthantverk, is on for another week until June 1st. Welcome!

Below is a copy of the beautiful Japanese book Europe Paper Collection - just arrived in the mail yesterday!
It's written in Japanese so I don't understand a word, but the pictures are nice to look at :)

The book features a selection of artists, designers, bookbinders etc, from Finland, Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy and England, all working with paper in different ways; art, design, letterpress, stationary, cards and more. I am one of three features from Sweden. Proud and honored!

Small article in the Uppsala newspaper today, about the public commission for NKS I will be doing.

And Frida Arnqvist Engström wrote about my exhibition at Kaleido here, in her always inspiring blog Kurbits.

Here, spring (almost summer!) has at last arrived after taking a much too long break... A sunny weekend to you all!

Midsummer girls

I haven't posted here in a while... Time flies and I've been busy with workshops etc. Summer 's here and school's out and the girls are enjoying long lazy days...

Here they are, my two lovely daughters, on Midsummers eve - the longest day of the year, when the sun never sets...

This is a nice spread from the Kinnarps business presentation, with a cup they had commissioned from me.

Check out Nathalie Graafland's very nice blog Passion for Paper & Print. I'm featured here.
Don't miss Amanda Nelsen's work (among other) - stunning!

Slow Art catalogue

I realized I never posted pictures from the beautiful catalogue that has been made for the Slow Art exhibition – so here are my two spreads and a small selection of my personal favourites (the list could be much longer – but I don't want to post the whole book here).

The exhibition at Nationalmuseum continues until February 3rd 2013, so there's still time to see it :) and to buy the catalogue!

bottles and chains

The weekend before last we went boating with a pedalo on Djurgårdskanalen in the center of Stockholm. I WANT one of those boats - what a great way to travel! That's Strandvägen behind the girls, the most fashionable part of the city and Kaknästornet behind Mattias and myself. You can go all the way up to the top of the tower, where there's a restaurant. If you don't suffer from fear of heights that is.
We even found a message in a bottle - it was a desperate note saying they were out of Swedish Punsch.

Check out the Creative Chain!
Lene Due Jensen is inspired by Lisbeth Svärling who is inspired by me, and I'm inspired by... check out next week who inspires me and so on and so on... Lots of talented people the previous weeks of course.

Tomorrow we're going to Artipelag.

for the love of paper

yay!

For paper lovers (and everyone else)!

Anything and everything made out of paper, in this beautiful book by Sandu Publishing co in Hongkong. I'm amazed at all the beauty inside - and proud to be featured within :)

For the spanish speaking, Café Morro Grande has written a feature about my paper work. Alas I don't speak the language myself, Google translate is a blessing.

bowl in magazine

Thank you Allt i Hemmet for adding my paper bowl (beside the 3) to your News, Trend and Design page!

Looking forward to tomorrow: I'm going to a special sneak preview at The National museum to see the new exhibition Slow Art - where one of my paper bowls will participate! Going with my husband Mattias and a couple of good friends/colleagues from Kaleido. But first we're visiting Galleri Inger Molin and then Sven-Harrys konstmuseum which I'm really looking forward to as well, never been to the latter. Might as well cram as much in as possible when we're at it! Hopefully I can take some good photos of it all.

RUM hemma

Some of my paper objects were used in a photoset in the swedish interior and design magazine RUM hemma: paper bowl and flower on the wall to the left, paper cup on the stack of notebooks and two coffee constellations hanging in right hand corner :)))
