slow work

Cellula I

Cellula II

I've been working on two large (50 x 70 cm) drawings for the past few weeks. Small, small circles, drawn together, slowly taking form.

I call them my "cells". They are part of one of my projects at the studio at Sigtuna Folkhögskola. Very meditative to work on, I lose track of time after a while. Can't work too long at a time though; the small circular movement makes my hand and back ache and my eyes water.

Now I want to do several more, a whole series with organic forms!

They can't be rushed though, it'll take time...

I've forgotten to post this link, but better late than never; I'm featured in Design this design that online magazine, page 15.

  1. beautiful work - and i know what you mean about the meditation - sometimes it suits my mood and sometimes it doesnt.

  2. thanks julie! I feel the same. It's good to alternate with several different projects; some fast, some slow, depending on mood and time at hand.

  8. thank you so much nicky!

  10. Beautiful work, and the process sounds so rhythmical and slow and relaxing... I love when my own work has that relaxed feeling to it, when you don't notice the effort.

Looking forward to seeing a little more, g
