Kaleido workshops
Sorry all english speaking - this is an ad in swedish for my upcoming workshops in Uppsala :)

Nationalmuseum!
So finally I can share the thrilling news that the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm has bought the Red bowl and Java cup!!! Needless to say I'm extremely honored and proud and feel a constant need to pinch my arm :)
These two pieces are now a part of their collection. The bowl will also take part in an upcoming exhibition there, titled Slow Art, starting May 10th. Here's an extract from the text about the exhibition:
In praise of slowness
More recently, however, our high-speed culture has come under fire for its downsides. Voices have been raised in support of the need to slow down. Concepts such as Slow Food (the opposite of fast food), Slow Travel, Slow Media and Slow Mail have been introduced. What the various Slow movements have in common is that their supporters advocate a more gently paced lifestyle, rather than a constant battle with the clock. There is also an ecological aspect to the Slow ethos, which is very much in tune with the goal of sustainable development.Hear hear :)))
Have a great weekend!

paper pulp Nyckelviksskolan
Day two at Nyckelviksskolan was devoted to paper pulping. The students experimented with color and form. And with mixing in coffee-grounds (second image from bottom).

workshop Nyckelviksskolan
I held a two-day paper workshop with the students at Hantverkspedagogerna ("Specialist craft tutor" programme) at Nyckelviksskolan last week. They unleashed their creativity and came up with some amazing results. First day was devoted to papier maché. I'm still curious about the shoe - did it come off the mold alright, I wonder?

high lights
Sometimes it's the simple things in life that make a difference! I bought myself a new lamp for my work space - it's really quite ugly but my eyesight isn't getting better with bad lighting and this isn't the time to be vain. So I got myself an OttLite with "Natural Sunlight Illumination, a broad shade for
maximum workspace lighting, a bonus magnifier and a pattern clip!" :))
What to do with scraps of leftover leather? I made strips that I glued together. Looks and feels like wood. Trivet or wall decoration?
Lisa Nilsson takes quilling to a new level. Stunning work.
I was interviewed by Brittany Mosely for GALO (Global Art Laid Out) Magazine, you can read it here.
