first worry bird on Etsy!

Let the worry bird worry for you
Let the worry bird fuss and stew
He's a wonderful pet
And when you get the jitters, he twitters
Let the worry bird worry his head
Have the time of your life instead
---
quote from the song
Let the worry bird worry for you
(Leo Robin / Jule Styne)

This is Pål! He'll take care of all your worries.
He's just flown in to my Etsy shop, click on the widget to your left.
More birds to come!

Saturday Mattias and I went to Stockholm and did the whole art show-gallerie-museum-thing. It was great, we saw a lot of interesting art - especially at the Spring Salon at Liljevalchs and Sonja Larssons paintings at Konstakademin. From the Liljevalchs on Djurgården, we took the ferry to the Old Town. Nice and icy.

On the train on the way home, a pidgeon jumped on board, road for one station, and hopped out the next. Lazy city bird :)

valentines and visits

Valentines day came and went. We went skiing in the forest for an hour with the girls. It was the first time for me this year and it felt great. We brought hot cocoa, sandwiches and peeled oranges and ate them out in the open.

Valentines card from Mattias. This is how he see's us.

Mattias (left) had visitors, two students from an artcollege in Cardiff, England. They came all the way to Sweden to interview him. Very ambitious and very nice.

A book cover collaboration that is on it's way to Israel and for Julie to finish!

sticky paper

Last week I had two days of bookbinding workshops at Sigtuna Folkhögskola. Half the students were from the photography department and half from the art department. As always, a great bunch of people. It's nice to teach something so "hands-on". When they're done, they know 3 different techniques on how to bind a book and also how to make a folder for keeping paper/art/photos. With this knowledge (and a manual I've put together), I hope they're able to experiment on their own, making book projects, albums or portfolios.

before and after

I received a letter in the mail...

should we open it?

what can it be?

is it true?

oh what joy

...it was happy news: I got an arts grant from The Association of Swedish Illustrators and will be going to Kavalla in Greece for a month this coming fall! It's a wonderful, beautiful place, we visited Mattias when he was there for the same reason, last fall :)
I will be able to work for my upcoming exhibition later in November, which feels very luxurious; to be able to focus only on this for a whole month.
jay!

finally Etsy!

I've been meaning to open a shop at Etsy for a long time. A place where I can sell my prints, handbound journals, crocheted creatures. Now I've finally done it... phew, it took a while, but now I'm there! Just click on the link on your right, and you'll get there.

Thanks to ALL of you that have left comments on my #100 blog post! Thursday is the final day, then my girls draw the winner - so there's still time left if you haven't left your name yet :)

The following two days I will have bookbinding workshops at Sigtuna Folkhögskola. There will be paper, glue and string everywhere! I hope to take some photos and post later on.

Have a nice evening!
