these boots are not made for walking

I started off with my own wellingtons. They served as moulds and were removed when the first paper layer was dry.

Then I tore book pages for strips. Three different books were used for slightly different coloring and typography.

Fringes were cut with scissors and each strip carefully curled.

Getting down to business.

I wanted a "hairy" look.  Strip after strip was pasted on...
