art and luxury

Thursday night was the opening of a sculpture exhibition by greek sculptor Dimosthenis Sotiroudis. As a friend of his, the commissary of the Swedish House, Caritta, could bring us to this quite private reception in the inner garden of luxury hotel Imaret. We had a lovely evening, sipping free wine and munching tiny little canapés. The place was truly beautiful, having been a koran school built in 1817, with marble arcades surrounding the garden. Rumour has it that Elton John stayed there for a while with his entourage and never left the building. I can understand him.
