one hundred!
This is my hundredth blog post!
It's almost a year since I started blogging (March 3rd to be exact), and I feel the need to celebrate this in some way! I decided to do a small give-away, and I hope you want to participate in my celebration. Just write a comment (or only your name if you don't want to say anything), and next Thursday (Febuary 5th), after writing the names on pieces of paper and tossing them into a hat, my daughters will draw a winner. The winner gets Jöran, a crocheted jackdaw, made by me. He's 15 cm tall, and stands on a wooden base. And he's a worry bird - tell him all your worries, he'll keep them forever.
Good luck!
Attentive Designtavern, that interviewed me a couple of weeks ago, also noticed that I have a new website, you are welcome to check it out!

frozen forms
Outside it's grey, there's a little snow but underneath it's icy and treacherous, it's slippery and difficult to walk. Wish it would snow a bit more so we could go skiing in the woods.
Made another self portrait at the studio, and I did a painting (!) with colors (!). Haven't done that in a looong time. I feel very unsure about it so I'm not posting it yet. If ever. But it was fun and I hope to continue. I am a graphic person, content with a limited palette of one to three colors, but sometimes I long for more.

ginger and iron
We were so late making the gingerbread house - we made it after x-mas - and so we were late eating it, too. We made Rapunzel in her tower, she was supposed to have looong hair all the way down, but we kept forgetting to buy string candy, so she stayed bald... Ate the last crumb last week. Asta didn't get any, but she did try to lick it a few times standing on her hind legs. I couldn't resist posting a photo, even though it feels totally out of place. Next year we'll do better!
I received one of those very nice packages in the mail. A necklace by swedish jewelry artist Carolina Claesson. I make invitation cards and posters for the jewelry gallery Hnoss in Gothenburg, were Carolina is a member, and this is how I get paid :) It's made of iron, two links in the back are gilded, it's heavy and surprisingly comfortable. I love it.

time to focus again
I was happy to go to the studio again last week, after the winter break. But of course it takes a little effort to get into focus again. My camera thought so too.
Forgot to post the last self portrait (at the bottom) I did last year. I find it a little scary, but I post it anyway - as it is part of my working process.

winter break
Hello again!
I took a break from blogging for a couple of weeks, but now I'm back!
The schools started today and everything is – finally – back to normal. I love holidays, but I'm just as happy when they're over and things go back to normal. I want my newspaper with my morning coffee for instance :) (in Sweden the paper's not delivered on public holidays, and there are so many of them this time of year...).
We spent the Christmas holidays eating, ice skating, eating, watching films, eating, ice skating, eating, etc...
The ice on the lake Mälaren came early this year. We went on the ice nearly every day – I haven't skated this much since I was a kid, and it fills me with happiness. I love being outdoors in the winter if the weather permits it, and it sure did these last weeks.
Hope you had a wonderful holiday too.
