boxing it
Off to Göteborg again tomorrow!
I feel kind of like a ping pong ball going back and forth, but I do enjoy the trips, going by train is my favourite means of transportation. Sunday I will hold a book box workshop at Rum för Papper. Here's what we'll be doing, a box for three books (A6-format). Simple enough, but you have to be meticulous if you want a snug fit.
Check in to see if there are places left!
I have some time when I arrive, to pass by Göteborgs Konstskola (art school) that has an open house. They promise interesting activities and a waffel café - this must not be missed :)

"Bacchanalia attempts to both recognize and celebrate the objects we use for the table. As an artistic deconstruction of a dinner party, each element is realized through installations of design and artwork. The selected pieces are infused with memories, cultural connotations, as well as symbolic values. However, the artists' contemporary viewpoints are revealed and challenge the viewers' perceptions by playing with the familiar connotations associated with the objects. The highlight of the project will be realized the evening of March 14th, 2012 with a fusion of taste and topic. To enhance the experience and understand the objects at greater depth, there will be a special evening of food and drink installations inspired by the collection."
Participating artists are Michael Anastassiades, Nigel Coates, Aleksandar Duravcevic, Mimi Joung, Ingrid Murphy, Lesley Stothers, Peter Ting and myself.
More photos from the opening night coming tomorrow!

room full
Bookbinding workshop in the small, but cosy, Rum för Papper in Göteborg. Eleven keen paper and book enthusiasts sewed and glued, Tove (one of the three shop owners) served us with paper of all kinds and colors. For me it's always inspiring to be there - and in Göteborg, meeting up with old friends.
In two weeks I'll be back with a boxmaking workshop. There are still places available!
Tomorrow morning I'm off to London with Mattias - and the Bacchanalia opening on Wednesday evening :)

peak at bacchanalia piece
Voilá - seven cups finished for the Bacchanalia exhibition in London! Don't want them exposed like this then - one gust of air and they come tumbling down - but they do make an impressive tower don't you think?

Mattias exhibiton
before the onslaught |
good old wires and clothespins come in handy again and again |
one of my absolute favorites |
Yesterday was the vernissage of hubby Mattias' exhibition at our local gallery Sigtuna Kulturgård. Weather was perfect, many people on the ice outside, quite a few made it inside to see the amazing art works. He is a mighty talented and productive man... <3

in progress for London
I'm using pages from one single book - a book of poems by swedish poet Erik Axel Karlfeldt (1864 - 1931). The edges are golden, which doesn't really show here though. The plan is to make 7 cups, all different except for the paper. More if there is time - and paper enough.

RUM hemma
Some of my paper objects were used in a photoset in the swedish interior and design magazine RUM hemma: paper bowl and flower on the wall to the left, paper cup on the stack of notebooks and two coffee constellations hanging in right hand corner :)))
