nature morte II
Found objects from nature, handmade paper and gilded silver wire (unsure about "gilded" here, please correct me if I'm wrong).
I did the first set of Nature morte in 2006, but then used gold sewing thread. I think the golden wire enhances the fragility and delicacy of the objects. Now I need to frame them in some way...

pet peeves
She did it but she won't admit it.
For Illustration Friday; this weeks topic "pet peeves". I was going to do a new illustration, but this one, that I did a year ago, kept popping up in my mind. She just wouldn't take no for an answer; she had to be in the competition. So here she is.

workshopping in Göteborg
Leaving Sigtuna with a promise of spring. We haven't had much of a winter this year anyway. I'm off to hold a one-day workshop in bookbinding in Gothenburg.
Staying with good friends on Hisingen. I woke up early Monday morning, discovering a thick layer of snow covering the ground. Great timing, Winter!
I made it in time to the workshop, straining with my heavy luggage containing all the bookbinding material for the workshop.
Glueing and sewing away! 21 students, three binding techniques and a folder, was the result of the day. You can see the School of Design and Crafts at Göteborg university here: www.hdk.gu.se
Hello! Goodbye! dear Göteborg...

Nyckelviksskolan
Off to work!
I taught a course in book illustration at Nyckelviksskolan this past week. I used to be a student here myself, 18 years ago (time flies..!). Wonderful school, beautiful surroundings, great students.
